Parking Brake Override Bypass
I bought the Micro Bypass parking brake bypass for my recently installed Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and now I (or my passengers) can access features that were previously disabled, such as certain Bluetooth phone functions.

The only issue I had was with installation. I interpreted the instructions a little different than the seller intended but he was very responsive and quick in email. We figured out the issue and I had it fixed in no time. If you do buy this the install is simple but keep this in mind:

1) Don't use Scotch connectors or other such devices. Twist the bare wires directly together and solder or wire nut.
2) Blue wire from Micro Bypass splices into blue/white wire from radio
3) Black wire from MB splices into ground from radio (has to share this ground, no other)
4) Green wire from MB - There is a light green wire that runs from the radio to the parking brake switch or the wire from that switch. Disconnect the light green from the parking brake wire or switch and connect it to the green wire from the MB. In other words, the light green wire from the radio should be connected to the green wire on the MB AND NOTHING ELSE.

Follow these simple rules and steps and you'll be good to go.

My microbypass worked perfectly with my new Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS for a few days until I found an issue with it... it won't work with the headlights on. Since the microbypass's 3 signals are 1.) Remote Turn-on 2.) Parking-brake signal and 3.) Ground, I'm not sure what would trigger the Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS to not allow video with the headlights on unless the newer units also have some logic related to the illumination signal going the headunit. Still need to troubleshoot this some more. It might just be a voltage drop since I'm also tying the Remote Turn-on to my power antenna signal and trying to use it to actually turn on my amp in the trunk.

Update (7 May 2013): I rewired my wires and everything works again. The Pioneer amp turn-on signal is limited to 300mA@12VDC, but the Microbypass takes a small current draw to get working. It must have been my Rockford Fosgate amp or the powered antenna that was drawing more current. I now have the signal going to a relay so everything works as expected.

The product works flawlessly. Very easy three wire installation that took about 5 minutes. Now I'm able to access all of the features for my avh-x5500bhs.
